Why You Should Winterize
Winterizing your pool the right way can save you thousands of dollars and a serious headache. Here's what we watch for on every closing.
Even the smallest leaks or drips coming from your skimmer or return can turn ugly and damage your pool wall. Make sure you check for leaks frequently and repair them ASAP. Replacing gaskets is preventative and will save you hundreds, even thousands, of dollars!
Keep your cover free of leaves and debris! Not pumping your cover off can lead to a cracked skimmer, a ripped wall, mushrooming, and pool walls being pulled in — expensive fixes, or you may end up needing a brand new pool. A neglected cover is also more likely to rip and fall into the pool, making your opening more difficult and expensive.
Your air pillows protect your swimming pool from ice damage — they aren't just there to keep leaves and water off. Air pillows absorb the pressure of freezing water and help protect your pool walls all winter long.
Know what kind of filter you have and how to run it. Properly running your filter and backwashing leads to a cleaner pool and saves you a headache. Earth filters need earth added as needed and must be backwashed and cleaned to avoid build-up. Sand filters are low maintenance. Cartridge filters should be cleaned out with your hose to give the cartridge a longer life.
All of our professional pool closings start at $235. Additional fees may apply for water bags, leaf nets, caretaker systems, spas, and heaters.
You'll need a cover with cable and winch, aquador, 4x4 pillows, and a return plug to close properly — pick them up at your local pool place.

You'll need gizmos for skimmers and rubber return plugs — pick them up at your local pool place.
Water level needs to be lowered below the skimmer before we arrive!
